There's absolutely no way to even detect that you have a PS/2 keyboard. They are electrically identical. If it doesn't work, either the motherboard is faulty, or the keyboard is faulty, or your wiring is wrong. Double-check you didn't wire it mirrored. I have done that mistake before, and blown a keyboard microcontroller as a result.

Currently I'm trying to get an interrupt-driven keyboard driver working.
